The well curated offerings, facilities and world-class amenities by The Rise perfectly cater to what its target market seeks for.
It is well poised to breathe new life into this thriving art, design and culinary borough just north of Ayala Avenue.
Here, at the heart of what was dubbed as NoMa or North Makati is where an influx of a young, tech-savvy and economic empowered market can be expected in a couple of years with the upcoming completion of The Rise, the latest high rise residence by premium developer Shang Properties Inc.
Fittingly enough, The Rise’s proposition—from its well curated offerings, facilities and world-class amenities—dovetails perfectly with what its target market seeks for. As it is set to rise in this district, The Rise offers an active and thriving art, music and creative community.
A clear proof that it was able to capture its target market’s preferences is the fact that The Rise is now 87 percent sold.
The Rise has only 400 units left out of more than 3,000.
Robert M. Cruz, director of sales for The Rise Makati, disclosed that based on the profile of their buyers, they were able to attract end users and investors within the ages of 31 to 45 years—a young market comprising of start up families, individuals working in nearby businesses, parents investing for their children, investors wanting to lease out units, those looking to make The Rise their halfway homes, and a healthy share of foreign buyers as well.
“The market we have is the independent working class, young, vibrant, creative. We’ve stayed true to what we’re targeting. Location-wise, you can’t beat it—it’s in NoMa, one of the most unique places in Makati, that’s up and coming and I’m very bullish about it,” he said.
This, he explained, is a market wanting to be at the heart of the bustling NoMa scene, where a distinct, unique mix of galleries, delicatessens, indie music venues and one-of-a kind retail shops are just a stone’s throw from The Rise. Add to that the basics such as banks, medical institutions, churches, police headquarters, fire station, which are likewise nearby.

Expectations are thus high for its future residents, more so now after Shang Properties recently topped off The Rise, marking the near completion of this upscale residence. This only means that by 2020, future residents will be able to revel in the project’s amenities which promise to be parallel to none.
And it’s easy to understand this anticipation.
“I think its uniqueness and price points make it such a good sell, along with its strategic location,” Cruz explained. “Add to that its rising values—we came in with an initial price of P98,000 per sqm. Now, it’s at P197,000 per sqm on the average. We have gone up 18 times since we’ve launched it in 2014.”
Cruz pointed out that this massive project—which offers 3,000 units comprised of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom cuts—was designed like a three-bladed propeller to spread everyone out. The middle part houses the common area where all 18 elevators are located.
The Rise allows you to create your own masterpiece.
A sprawling 7,600 sqm of space will meanwhile house exceptional amenities—reportedly the heart and soul of the project, according to Cruz.
“Shang Properties is known for its amenities, for what we offer. So we have the kiddie rooms, indoor playgrounds, the library and the gym which are normal for most developments. But for The Rise, we actually took it to another level as here, we offer three big spaces, given the understanding that the units we offer are relatively smaller than what we’re used to,” Cruz explained.
The Rise is indeed redefining what “best-in-class” amenities mean with its 28-meter tropical pool, a 380-meter private jogging path set in lush green landscaping, billiards room and a reading room.
But the highlights of the amenity deck, and of which Shang Properties is particularly proud of, are three spaces designed to let you decide how you want to play, relax and work: The Hangout, The Nest and The Workshop.
With almost 300 sqm of open lounge areas, The Hangout offers the perfect space for entertaining family and friends, while The Nest is the relaxation and well being zone that offers swinging hammocks, comfy seats and garden terraces where you can curl up with your favorite novel or chill out on the sun deck.
The Workshop meanwhile is where you can have your quiet space as this offers a fully stocked, purpose designed workspace with multifunction rooms, IT bar and a library.
Another draw, according to Cruz is the upcoming two-storey retail commercial area which will be called Assembly Grounds at The Rise.
Lala Fojas, EVP and general manager of Shangri-la Plaza Corp. said they expect to open the retail area about six months prior to the unit turnover.
“There’s a big community around us and (the community mall) is going to provide them with something different, new, unique and exciting,” Fojas explained. “It’s going to be a well curated community mall—a retail establishment that will have a lot of different offerings for the young people, the millennials, the starting families. We will provide them with different choices for their interesting lifestyle.”
Fojas pointed out that the Assembly Grounds will be a microcosm of their market at Shangri-La Plaza Mall as the former will be focused on a particular segment of their current chunk market.
“It will have a different vibe primarily because it’s focused on a much younger, more vibrant community. The basic feel or DNA of that area is dynamic, very hip kind of place and so it will have a different feel in the sense that it will be a microcosm of what we have at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall,” Fojas explained.
“As you know, Shangri-La Plaza is a very big mall and therefore we are able to cater to a specific group of mall goers within different segments and core markets. (At Assembly Grounds), we will now be catering to a more focused group of young, tech savvy people who are very experiential,” she said.
Cesar Jose C. Jesena, head for tenant management division for the Assembly Grounds added that they see this area becoming the new hotspot of Makati.
“NoMa is an emerging place and we’d like to be part of it, we want to be the catalyst for that place,” Jesena said. “We will have strong brands with experimental concepts. One will even do a store of the future—and that’s the kind of vibe we will be asking from our more than 50 vendors for dining, retail and services.”
